Holiday Cards!!!

Do you purchase pre-made holiday cards or do you create your own?

I usually create my own cards.
This is our card from last year:

I used Mari Koegelenberg's Jubilee kit and used Truly Blessed Design's (Marsha) template.

The year before that I made cards with buttons.  I made the buttons look like Christmas balls.  It was quite easy.  I glue the buttons on the card and used a black pen to make the hooks.  Unfortunately I do not have a photo of the cards.

Jewelled Christmas Ornaments!!!

I have lots of Christmas ball ornaments with nothing on them so I decided to dazzle them up.

I started off with a regular Christmas ball:

Gathered all the dollar store jewels I had, along with some nice Christmas ribbon:

And started applying the jewels to the balls.
(What's fun with the jewels I bought at the dollar store is that they already have glue on them.. no need to apply glue to stick them on the ball).

Once I was done applying the jewels, I added a beautiful Christmas ribbon.

I also dazzled some red ones with green jewels.  Silver jewels on the balls also look wonderful.

Ribbon Christmas Card Holder!!!

Looking for an original way to display your Christmas cards this year?
How about a sparkly ribbon hanging on your door?

I used thumbtacks to attach the ribbon to the top ledge of the door and used clothespin to hang the cards on the ribbon.

It's really that simple... and it looks really pretty!

Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!

Yummy chewy chocolate chip cookies!

Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter or margarine 175ml
1 cup packed light brown sugar 250ml
1/2 cup granulated sugar 125ml
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla 5ml
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 550ml
1 teaspoon baking soda 5ml

1 teaspoon salt 5ml
1 package (270 g) Milk Chocolate Chips

Steps:

1- Heat oven to 375ºF.

2- In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars until fluffy.  Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy.

3- In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt; add to butter mixture. Stir in milk chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. 

4 - Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. 

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Glass Bead Magnets!!!

Interested in making boutique style glass magnets?

They are easy and very quick to make.  I actually made them with my 6 year old daughter.

Supplies:
- Clear flat glass beads
- Scrapbook paper
- Magnets (make sure they are strong ones)
- Mod Podge
- Amazing Goop Craft Contact Adhesive
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Paint brush

Step 1:
Take out you clear flat beads and all your supplies.

Step 2:
Place a bead on your scrapbook paper and trace the bead onto the paper.

Step 3:
Cut out what you traced on your paper.

Step 4:
Apply Mod Podge to the back side of your cut-out with a brush.

Step 5:
Once your cut-out is dry, apply Mod Podge again but this time on the front of it and stick it immediately on to the flat side of your bead.

Step 6:
Once your cut-out is completely dry and stuck to the glass bead. Apply a dab of glue (Amazing Goop) to the back of it and stick a magnet to it.

Step 7:
Place them on your fridge and ENJOY!!!
